Camshaft sensor test - RESOLVED
2000 XKR continues to show check engine light and codes P0340 and P0341.
I believe this means the sensor on the passenger side US is bad or there is a problem with the wiring.
How do you test a camshaft sensor?
Are the sensor side specific? Can they be swapped?
Which way should the pigtail point when installed?

84 Views but no replies as I write this!
Here's the possible causes for P0340 and P0341 from the Jaguar DTC listing:

The Parts Catalogue shows different P/N's for LH and RH so they can't be interchangeable:

Dirty sensor or harness fault should be checked and eliminated before moving on to sensor failure. I've no idea how to test the sensor!

Thank you Graham, it was begining to feel very lonely out here.
Apreciate the information.
So no they are not interchangeable.
JimboV8, Much appreciate the Youtube on the testing. Great adition to the forum's data bank. I need a translator for the Cockney(?) accent of our Brit cousin, but get the basics of the test.
Xrguy, Cam covers have been of recently and probably mixed up the bolts. Thank you. I will re-check.
