Can coolant running through throttle body get to intake?
Title says it all. Have another post where trying to figure the source of sweet white smoke.

You could prove it by pulling the intake manifold and looking inside for traces of coolant. Or perhaps just pull the TB off and see if any coolant is puddled below in the elbow. Fun, right! There should be nothing in the intake runners except oil residue. Some oil gets sucked in via the valve cover hoses..
Coolant runs through throttle body to stop frost forming because of Venturi effect. Just like carburetor heat on a small plane.
I did a search before I asked the question. Found nothing.

Looked up picture on RockAuto. Yes.
Depends on the year, I think. My 2000 has no EGR valve. I thought I read somewhere that only the early models have one.
My BMWs both have drive-by-wire throttle bodies and they have no water passages. I wonder why Jag's would freeze up when others don't?

Don’t know why some cars have and some do not. Maybe because ours are set back a little from the heat of the engine? I know not needed if in warm climate and some bypass. My 996 had an air/oil separator. Big thing about the size of a football. It started leaking coolant but otherwise worked fine. Engine drop to replace so I bypassed coolant because in Florida.
