Default Can't move top manually

i tried hot wiring and grounding the motor with no success. i disconnected the two outer hydraulic lines on the pump and cannot get the top to move by hand. i was able to do it easily last summer when replacing latch hoses. i am puzzled.

Did you disconnect the motor from its connector when you hot wired it ? If not you may have blown a fuse. If you put 12v across the pump motor and when disconnected and hear nothing the pump is shot.

yes. i unplugged the motor and grounded the black wire and used hot wire to white wire. it does appear the motor is shot, but it seems i should still be able to lower the top by hand.

First off you need to get out of this thread and start another.

If you opened the petcock and you were unable to open the latch manually and if you disconnected both hoses and still unable to open the latch manually I would say you either have a clogged line, latch piston problem or a latch linkage jamming. As for your applying power to the pump be careful the pump is bidirectional by means of a polarity change on the feed to it. But why are you doing that when you isolated the pump from the latch and you still have a latch problem. What am I missing?

I think I need additional information on what is taking place with the roof and what you have done.

the latch is in the closed position with the top resting on top of it. the last time it worked, the top went dow and then the latch came up. when i went to put the top back up the latch went down befor the top met the header. the top has been stuck in that position since then. i can not get it to move with the pump or manually

i tried to get the latch to open with the allen wrench, but it only goes so far. not quite enough to catch the roof latch.

From what I think you are saying your hoses are crossed. Check your PM
