Car Solutions RGB-LE
Anyone out there that has installed the Car Solutions RGB-LE unit for Backup/Front Camera(s) to existing NAV Display?? If so, I am interested to learn how well it works and if you installed in trunk or up front.
Here's the link. I have bought this unit but the instructions are at best minimal. Can probably make it work, but it would be nice to share experiences if someone else already has installed it. Currently on the road, but will be back home later this month and will start the install.

I put one in an S-Type a number of years ago and it works fine to this day. On the XK8 it can be patched in at the monitor or in the boot. There is more room and wire slack to work with in the boot, so it is a bit easier. Also power and the reverse light are easily accessible in the boot.
Thanks for your input. I am planning to do the install in the trunk, together with the Bluetooth audio. I will also have both front and rear video cameras. With the meager instruction manual, I am still unclear on how the display switching is set up. I would like to just somehow use a three position rocker switch for Front - Clock - Rear, and also keep the original NAV DVD in the loop
Do you know if this can be done??
It has been a awhile, but I think this module works by cycling through all the video inputs (including the original nav. RGB input) that were enabled with the DIP switches using the wireless remote or an external momentary switch. The exception is the rear video input which can connect to automatically engage in reverse. If you preferred to manually control the rear camera though, you could connect it as just another video input.
It is not really clear in the manual, but I think the momentary switch input is the orange wire which (strangely) is in the RGB out connector.
I used to make and sell a plug and play kit that did exactly what you described with a three position switch, but that used a PAC VCI-X adapter which is now out of production (though occasionally available on eBay used).

Thanks Steve!
Cycling through the inputs makes sense to me now. The supplied switch is just a momentary contact and each push will then increment one step.
The manual is very thin and no attempt has been made to convert it from "Chinglish" to English.
I am sure there will be a fair amount of trial and error before this is done.
