Default Cell phone mount

Silly question, just wondering if anyone uses a cell phone mount in their xk8 / xkr.

Looking at getting one for my 04, for easy view of torque app, and can't decide on one. Any suggestions / experience appreciated.

Hi Rick, How secure is the attachment to the air vent? Is it just a friction fit or is there some positive clamping device?

I used a Brodit ProClip because it would take either my phone or my SatNav/speed camera detector:

Substantial clip and and it didn't risk damaging the vent or mark the trim when removed.

+1 for the Brodit.
There are 3 different mounting options available for the x100 dash. As i have the sat nav screen, i went for the centre mount. You then buy the iphone etc mount separately and fit them together. The aren't cheap but quality is high and very easy to fit, fully adjustable (portrait/ landscape/tilt) and no damage to the dash. It just slots into the gaps between dash and trim/vents.

I use the Kuda mount, it is unobtrusive, the leather matches the interior and it is well placed & secure on the console. I use it with my my iPhone plus and iPod (wires tuck into the body of the mount).

It is a friction fit on the vent. I have never seen one fall out it has a large and a small slit so you can really wedge it in. I also put one of the steel plates on the back of the phone. It is quite secure. I'm not sure I would take it off road, but then I wouldn't take the Jag off road either.
