Interior rear view mirror type?

Interior rear view mirror type?
Can you tell from the VIN number which interior rear view mirror you need to get to replace the existing fogged unit in my car. I understand there are several different types having different number of wires. I would like to order one and remove mine when the new one arrives.
Thanks

I give a +1 to the suggestion to use Sybesmas to repair your existing rearview as trying to get a used one from eBay or elsewhere is not only problematic but also way more expensive if it's a working unit.
You say your is fogged but it's probably got a problem with the electro-luminescent fluid that's contained in the mirror that causes it to go dark when someone's high beams hit it from behind.
In any case Sybesmas can fix it and make it like new for about $100 plus shipping. I had them do two for me including one that has not only the auto-dim feature but the rain sensor built-in as well and they both came back looking like brand new units.

I cant remember the number of wires. I think it was 5. It is easy enough to remove the overhead console and the bracket to expose the connectors. Then you can count the wires if you want. I had luck finding a good used one on this forum. I don't think I would have used any ebay sellers or junk yards unless you can see and touch the item.

How many wires???
If you indeed have the rain sensing automatic wipers in your car there should be 8 wires with an 8 wire connector. You can expect to pay $300 or more for a used working one while you can get it professionally repaired for right at $100.00
