Yea...it's me again!

OK...check enging light still on, vacuum lines and air intake lines all 'patched' and sealed and no more leaks detected.

Next step is to replace the MAFS.

The one on my 1999 XK8 reads LNE1620BB (I have no idea if this was the original/correct one however)

The last numbers in my VIN # are 031928

Does anyone know if an LNE1620CB is interchangable?

Which one is better?

Why did Jag change in mid 1999?

Anything have to be done after installation, or is it plug-and-play?

I couldn't find anything posted on the internet regarding this, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

LNE1620BC fits Jaguar 1999-2003 XJ8 FROM VIN 853936 ON, AND 1999-2003 XK8 FROM VIN 031303 ON ...Hey, that's me!
LNE1620BB fits Jaguar 2000-2003 XJR AND 2000-2003 XKR SUPERCHARGED CARS ONLY

Anybody have an any idea why my car would be fitted with a 1629BB (I'm grasping at straws here)?

I'm curious as to the reliability of the Jagbits information.

Maybe this has been my problem all along?

Any thoughts out there?

 

Most part numbers that are the same will work on the car. The letters at the end of the part number usually just indicate a newer/improved revision of the part. If the part is changed, so does the part number. As I said this is usually the way it works!
