Default changing transmission fluid (XKR)

on an '02 XKR,

to just change the fluid, is disconnecting the lines into the transmission cooler the easiest way to proceed ? Direct one line into the used fluid receptacle receptacle and on the other line, have a hose going into the clean new fluid container with the other end connected to the intake transmission line ? Bad idea ?

am wanting to put off doing a complete transmission service at this time.

is there a consensus on best synthetic ATF ?

Z.

Shell ATF 134 will work just fine. This link may be helpful, in that it gives you different vendors to look at: https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevol..._en.html#close

Can't speak for the fluid flush. I just did a simple drain and refill 2 times, and the fluid in mine looks fine.
