While driving a strange smell from the A/C overcame the cabin. I turned the motor off. When I restarted, it idled "rough" and a coughing type sound from the mufflers was heard. I then noticed the "Check Engine" symblol had lit up. There was no "message" or "priority indicator".

Any ideas?
