Default code reader

Need help to find plug for code reader on my 2006 XK8. I looked around under the dash. Must be looking in the wrong place. Guy at Auto Zone tried no luck. I have engine light on, hope it's bad gas went on 50 miles after I filled the tank, engine runs rough just like bad gas.

Thanks for your help.

Rich

On my 2001, it is on the drivers side, far left end of dash, just above and to the left of the hood release. I think it is the same through 2006.

Go to www.CanOBD2.com you will find a graphic pic of where it is. My link on a 04 XJ8 is to the far right of the driver's foot well. I run my hand down along the joint of the center consol and the bottom of the dash and I find an opening and there it is.

Here's a very lousy cell phone picture of mine. The blue thing is my bluetooth OBDII scanner which communicates with an app called "Torque" on my Android phone.

Everything! It's awesome. It lets me read codes, of course, but it also gives me tons of real-time info. For example, I can set it to show my fuel pressure, engine coolant temperature, throttle position (0%-100%), RPMs, engine load (0%-100%), intake air temperature, mass airflow rate, timing advance... It also has graphs that show different parameters over time. On my Expedition it shows me horsepower and torque, but for some reason it doesn't show that on the Jag. It can use the phone's GPS to measure speed, and you can see your GPS speed and your car's wheel speed sensor speed side by side. It's very cool...

Anyone know if there is a similar app for the I-Phone?

Use this link to view a host of OBD II readers that has been tested and found to work on our cars. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=33347 Hope this helps!

Don't know where connector is but same symptoms on our 03s type. Dealer charged $4k to replace cat converter and plugs and coils.

Just in case somebody is wondering now that this popped up. Go to this site:

Welcome to CanOBD2!

Look for DLC Locator in the lower right hand corner of the page.
