I am trying to figure out why my top won't go up or down any more. I have an Icarsoft scanner and one of the codes it returned was U1041 Vehicle speed invalid or missing data. Does anybody know anything about this code ? I think that if the car is moving past a certain speed the top will not operate....might this be my issue. So far no success with the top.......now just wading through codes , switches , fuses , relays etc.

 

From the information in the Jaguar DTC table, that code is very specific for an invalid signal from Instrument Pack to Adaptive Damping module:





I could understand BPM (Body Processor Module) being involved in convertible top inhibition but can't see that the ADCM would be relevant to control of the top.

Thanks. Doing more checking it appears that the BPM goes offline after a few minutes of operation. I have checked this with both my ICarsoft scanner and my son in laws professional mechanics scanner ....so I am thinking that maybe the BPM has a fault. The pro scanner shows more codes than the Icarsoft but loses contact with the BPM entirely after 2 or three minutes. We have repeated this at least half a dozen times. I am thinking that I may need a new BPM

The odd thing is that I get no codes on the instrument cluster, the car otherwise runs fine
