Thanks to all you senior members for this information. I just bought an 06 XK8 with 30K.
It is quartz / dove and belonged to a doctor in Manhattan Beach. I was wondering if the
06 models still have the plastic chain tensioners ?

Congrats on the 2006 XK8, and welcome to the forum. No worries on your chain tensioners. That issue was apparently resolved when the 4.2 V8 replaced the 4.0 V8 for the 2003 model year....

Congrats on the new car, no worries on the tensioners so have fun.
What about a pic, my S Type is Quartz/Dove, it would have been nice to have a matching XK8.

Does the 06 model still have the plastic impeller in the water pump. I will get some
good pictures up soon.

Looks great.

You can relax about the often discussed problem areas such as tensioners and impellers on the 4.0 models. They were resolved with the 4.2 models.
