Convert Rear Fog Lights to Brake Lights

Convert Rear Fog Lights to Brake Lights
I was thinking, how many times have I used the rear fog lights on any of my 10 Jaguars and came up with never.
After reviewing a couple of post I found some mods that allow you to convert the fog lights to brake lights, great idea.
After reviewing the wiring diagram I figured a way that requires no cutting of wires. Simply run a strap from terminal 5 of the brake relay to terminal 5 of the rear fog lamps relay, I simply left the fog lamp relay out and soldered a spade connector to that end of the wire, at the brake relay end I flattened the wire tinned with solder filed it smooth and flat, inserted into terminal 5 and reinserted the brake relay. Works great and really provides a better notification that you are braking.
I am sure that if you wanted to continue to have an operational rear fog light inserting a diode in the link and putting the rear fog light relay back in would do the trick.
Here in Florida there just isn't a big need for the fog lights.
I have added a picture of the strap installed, no cutting of wires, no rear light cover removal. Just pop the cover off the fuse relay box in the trunk. Took all of 15 minutes, most of which was waiting for the soldering iron to heat.

Yelp, similar to what I did in this thread

This is a great idea IMHO, really adds brake light viability.

I have thought of converting my rear fog light to a regular brake light (although if it is dark I have both the front and rear on because I like the look)... but I have also thought about adding a "sequential relay" like you might see on some mustangs (where the turn signals light up sequentially from inside to outside)... I am not sure if that would look cheesy or classy???
