convertible top fluid
i got a 2002 jaguar xkr. in my fluid in the convertible top is real low in the pump.. im trying to find out. what kind of fluid can i put in there. and how do i put the fluid in the pump.. please tell me i dont have to go to the dealer..... thanks
The top hydraulic system requires Pentosin CHF 11s fluid. It is available at NAPA stores for less than $20 per liter.
You have a leak that should be repaired if you have lost fluid. Most likely is the top latch. Any signs of green fluid inside the top console? The other high leak areas are the tops of the hydraulic cylinders. Look under the car for wet areas in front of the rear wheels.
There is a small brass cap at the top of the reservoir. It is really not visible but you can feel it and remove with a wrench. You will need a special tool to add fluid. Something along the order of a turkey baster with a piece of hardware store tubing attached.
