Default convertible top latch claw doesn't quite pop up high enough

I just had the hydraulic hoses and top latch cylinder replaced with Top Hydraulics components, after the cylinder began leaking. The top was operating normally. Everything is working fine now--my mechanic, who is very experienced, says everything electrical and hydraulic is functioning normally, and it seems so to me as well--except that, most of the time, in the "close" cycle, the top latch claw doesn't quite extend as much as it needs to--less than a 1/4" from where it should, but enough that the bail (steel loop) in the front edge of the top lands on top of, rather than just in front of, the open claw. I have to re-open the top a bit, push the claw up with my finger (which is easy--no resistance) and it closes fine. The top seems to be properly aligned. My mechanic says he can mess around with it and try to get it to move just a bit more, but he'd have to take the header back apart to do it, and neither of us think that's warranted given that there's no specific "fix" that he thinks has a great chance of success. Right now, my plan is to live with it, unless someone on here has some experience with this and insight into what is going on. (I've tried spray-lubing the latch claw with dry silicone spray a few times, but it doesn't seem to be an issue of anything being tight--everything seems to move freely).
