Default Convertible top latch hex key

Changing convertible top operation to manual. The convertible top latch hex key is missing. I have many Allen wrenches, none fit. Does anyone out there know the size and type of wrench I need?

This has been an adventure; The second day I owned this car, the fuel pumps died. $1200 and three weeks to get her to the shop and repaired. That necessitated towing the car. Found the towing eye threads were stripped. Bought a 20mm 2.5 die to repair (there was not a 20mm die in the county) 12 days waiting. Then tried to insert tow eye into receptacle under the car (both front and rear) female sides also stripped. Bought a 20mm 2.5 tap to repair (not a 20 mm. tap in all the county). 12 days waiting. Went then to check the tire pressure. Mondile adapter missing. Another $55.00 and a week and a half wasted. Just now, checking under the spare tire, found the tire iron business end torn off. I am thinking the lug nuts are 7/8" I hope they are not MM. Then of course I began looking for the boot top cover. None there. Another three weeks waiting....

I do not know what I would do without this Forum!!!!! Thanks to all !!!!

I went to Advance Auto and bought a 9 piece Torx key set for about $12.00 - has sizes T10, T15, T20, T25, T27, T30, T40, T45, T50 - will cover this and probably a good number of other items on the car

The hex key in question looks to be 8 mm. Pretty sure.

I would expect the lug nuts are metric too, but I don't have numbers handy.

You've had your share of bad luck. Hope you catch a break soon!

Go figure. I wonder if there is a MY difference. The key co-located with the pump on my '01 is a simple hex key, not a torx.

You nailed it! Thanks There is just enough meat on the receiver to let me rotate the latch. I tried the suggested wrenches several times before I learned it is a #8 Allen.....Thanks again!

Are you sure it's missing? I thought mine was until I started poking around in the trunk removing the liner to get take a look at the alien-beacon's setup. I saw the hex key sitting comfortably on top of the cd changer/amp holder rack.

Oh yes, I'm certain it is not anywhere in this car. I have lost my black key and after finding out what is involved I have searched every part of this car seven times.
