Convertible top problem

Just purchased a beautiful 1999 xk8. 38000. Miles. When it was delivered everything was perfect but top won’t go down. It worked before purchased it. I am trying to get it down manually. I have turned the hex key in the trunk and used the Allen wrench to unlatch the front latch. The top will not move. I have read something about releasing the rams. Can someone help me with that. I want to enjoy the weather while I wait for the part to replace the hydraulic lines

There’s a figure showing how to squeeze the top of the ram (behind head liner rear quarter). Firm but gentle - don’t bend frame laterally .

Found the rams got the top down manually I will try a hard reset to see if I can get it working automatically but first project is to preempt a hydraulic leak by replacing lines and pistons over the interior lights the motor looks good probably just needs to be led and new fluid put in
