Is the only function of the red light above the H on the temperature gauge to show low current in the reservoir? Stated another way, is that the only input the light gets?
Not sure about that but once when my coolant was a bit low I did NOT get the light but did get a "low coolant" warning message. By the way this is somewhat related but just went shopping for coolant today and I had always been buying either Prestone or one of the other Orange ones that is a 50/50 mix and OAT. Today when I went to the counter in the auto parts store with my Orange in hand the guy asked the year/make/model of my vehicle and told be I needed to be using the Prestone PINK. I guess he was right in that the Orange ones now all say for American vehicles on the label and the Pink one shows European vehicles including post-1999 Jaguar. Still took me a bit by surprise.
I'll have to check on the pink. I know mixing colors can cause issues. I'll be flushing and I always run at least six gallons of distilled water until what drains out is clear.
