I need to replace my broken Courtesy Puddle Light Assembly on my lower drivers side door of my 2003 Jaguar XK8. All the listing I see for these lamps say right side or left side. What side are they referring to when they say this. Why not say drivers side or passenger side. My car is U.S.A. left hand drive. Could someone please help me with this.

Quick answer, because driver and passenger change sides depending on the market for the car (say UK vs US). So, for you, driver is left, passenger is right.

However, left and right are always relative to the perspective of the driver seated in his position and are constant across markets.
