Default Crankshaft O ring needed on early cars ?

Refitting the crankshaft pulley this weekend. Looking for the torque found this in the engine repair manual. Mine doesn’t have the locking collar so only need 80Nm +80deg but noticed an O ring. There wasn’t one fitted and cant see anywhere it should go. Assume I don’t need one. Any advice before I refit it?

Ended up using some thread lock. My pulley didn’t have the locking collar either. Here’s how I did it, just hope to doesn’t leak. Fitting Crankshaft Pulley -EP28- Jaguar XK8/XKR (X100)
