Default Cruise control stopped working after ABS and traction control lights came on

My X300 ('96 XJ6 VDP) abs and traction control lights came on. while I was sorting out how to fix that that problem I found my cruise control no longer worked. This makes me think wheel speed sensors are at the root of all three problems. Thoughts? Cleaning them good idea or waste of time. How to test for which sensor is bad if cleaning doesn't do it.
How and where to start trouble shooting Cruise control if I'm wrong about W.S.S.
Never had this problem before, because most of my Jags never had ABS.

I've had the identical problem for the last two years. (It doesn't affect getting a safely inspection sticker in Mass). I cleaned the wheel sensors and checked the resistances to the four wheel sensors at the ABS module plug and everything was OK. I figured I needed to re-solder the two lugs inside the module, but they did not appear to be damaged at all. I'll do that tomorrow and let you know if that helps. Clean your sensors first and check the reluctors for excessive rust. Then test the sensor wiring resistances per the repair manual procedure.

Might want to read up on what problems a brake light switch creates. Sure sounds like the indications point that way.

Yes, consider changing the switch. For future problems you will find more help if you post on the X300 forum. Also, please visit the new member area and introduce yourself and your car.

I soldered the two lugs inside the ABS module just now and the ABS/trac. message on the dash are no longer present. I tried the cruise control and it immediately went into limp mode. Turned the ign. on and off a few times and it cleared. Funny about the cruise not working because the brake light switch was replaced in 2012 before I bought the car.

Cleaned wheel sensors and had the brake switch replaced. Nice relaxing summer without the dash lights taunting me.

thanks for reply.Cleaned sensors, nada. A scanner says bad ABS motor. I was going to check brake light switch when I noticed a tear in the cruise control diaphragm.

Default Challenger problems

So I was driving across country for my work when my abs went out which caused my cruise control to stop working does anyone have any idea of what caused the problem?

This is a Jaguar forum, not Challenger. That being said, it will save you a lot of guesswork if you have the codes read by a qualified shop.

On my 2006, I have changed the brake light switch twice(just to confirm good switch). Still get "Check rear Lights"/"No Cruise Control" lights. I do not get an ABS light. I am also getting a driver's side air bag 'Caution' /'Inop' light. The seat control module under the driver's seat is crushed (from seat being too low, my sitting in it). Moving the module around along with some of the other under seat wiring sometimes has a delaying effect on the dash caution lights, but they eventually return.
I plan to remove the seat and replace the seat module soon to see if that is part of the problem, and also to see if there are any other under seat issues. I have run this problem on a few other threads without any solutions.
Where is the ABS module located. I will try checking it for looseness, and see if there might be a problem there, even though I do not have a light yet.

The abs module is on the driver side near the front, look for the brake lines out of the top. You will save a lot of work and probably money if you have a shop with jag software check for stored codes. Or maybe just buy one of the scanners that can read abs codes, since you want to do the maintenance and repairs yourself. There are at least a couple I have seen mentioned on the forum.

I have a codes checker. Will run it and see what I find. Thanks for the location. I will check it out.

If your code reader does not read Jag specific codes ( C & U prefix), it will not help.
