My XK8 I don't think saw snow/salt (southern car) until I got it and it only say the salt dust left on the roads. I did not drive it in snow. But I too wash my cars often in the winter. My son works at a car wash so I get them for free and I don't have to do them anymore. I like that.

Similar story here - my son turned 16 this summer & wanted my GMC,
so I purchased the Jag as my daily driver - mild winters here in east TX,
so its rare that the streets get salt or sand, but when they do,
the Jag stays home.
