Just wondering if anyone here has purchased parts from Dave of DCR Autoparts?

 

Yep. Got lots of stuff from Dave but you need to have patience. Communication is “spotty” but Dave always came good in the end.... eventually.

As I’m overseas in the Middle East I used Dave for specialist, or hard to find parts ie Trim pieces, stainless steel exhaust etc.

 

GOOD TO KNOW!! Dave was really quick to respond to my emails regarding prices, but once I paid for the parts.....have no responses from him. Was beginning to think I had been scam'ed.

Perhaps I will hear from him next week.

I've picked up a few things from him as well - no issues

 

Covid-19 lockdown restrictions are in force across the UK and Scotland (DCR Autoparts is in Inverness) are especially strict. Delays are almost inevitable.

very nice fellow and good to deal with, but sometimes a bit slow ......I don't think that he is a big operation and every communication I have had has been with him directly...and not with a 'sales rep' so understandably not super fast return email.

 

When I need something or I can't find something...I contact Dave! He is a very nice Guy and bends over backward to help you out...He's either got the Part or can get the Part and get it to you Quickly! I like him alot!

Well, Dave never did respond to my last two emails, but I did receive shipping confirmation from the shipper, so perhaps Dave was letting that answer my question as to whether he was able to get the part shipped-out.

Just waiting for the part to arrive now.

I can confirm it's extremely cold ...... and that's only as a spectator.

Just wanted to say that the parts from Dave, DCR Autoparts arrived; very well packed, and two days early!!

 

Thanks for confirming safe and prompt arrival. Many members post a complaint or criticism but then don't follow up with the outcome.

I'll leave the thread open as it's a good recommendation for DCR Autoparts.

Just ordered a stainless steel exhaust system (rear sections with oval tips). Good discussion up front and pleased with his responsiveness - so far.

I have bought a number of things from Dave. Nice honest Scottish Guy who does what he says he will. He has just about anything you will ever want or need for you XK8 or XKR...If he doesn't have it up there in the North of Scotland, he will find it for you and it will be the right Part for the right Car and the Cost is Fair.....If you are not Happy with or about something, he will work with you.....This has been my experience with Dave,..Quality at a fair Price....What I like is that he can find it if he doesn't have it....just remember that it takes a little longer sometimes!

Yep, as this thread says, lots of Forum members have used DCR aka "Dave CR" and he's friendly and very knowledgeable. My experience is that he's not quick in communications, and sometimes slow to deliver. You'll need patience if you're dealing with him. But he's reliable and always gets there in the end. Very useful for the "hard to find" parts.

 

I can also recommend Dave at DCR. The sill repair panels I purchased came quickly and were a godsend.
