Dead Battery, Now A Couple of Quirks
Hey Guys,
On Monday morning I came out to start my car and the battery was dead. Not sure why, the car only sat for the weekend. Perhaps a door or the glove box was left ajar.
Jumped the car and things went back to running.
Since jumping the car though the button for the trunk stopped working. Trunk opens from the key fob. But not the button.
Also the windows keep rolling down 2-3 inches. The windows don't roll back up when the doors shut. And when you open the car door the window rolls down several inches.
Could these two issues be related ?
Thanks
Dave

Yes, these cars are notorious for getting weird issues with weak batteries. Have yours load tested.
As for the windows, they need to be reset. With the top up, roll up a window all the up and hold the switch until you hear a soft click. Then roll it down all the way and again hold listening for the click. Repeat for the other window.
Once done, you should be OK. Sometimes it takes twice, but seldom.

o2,
The window thing sure sounds like a battery that needs charging or replacing. How old? Can you get a voltage reading (digital meter) off the battery in the morning before you start the car?
Trunk lid button: Might be a coincidence here. I have not heard of this button going inop from a battery issue. We know there's enough juice because the fob works.
But the wiring has been known to break at a point near the right-side trunk hinge where it has to flex as the trunk lid moves. Pretty easy fix if so.
Good luck.
