Disabling Driveaway Locking automatic door locking.
This week I’m going to call the Ford/Mazda repair places around here to see if they have the Ford WDS/IDS/VCM OBD tools to disable Driveaway Locking, which autolocks the doors when it is put in D or R. Driveaway Locking is one of the few features of my XKR that I absolutely despise, along with the ugly non-hidden windshield wipers & the too fat sun visors.
A couple questions:
From the XJ forum: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-cancel-43748/
Went to see Motorcarman today and he disabled it for me using his WDS. It is in "Dealer Options" maybe "security" after that and eventually you get to "Driveaway locking enable" and the choices are "Enable" and "Disable". Bob switched mine from "enabled" to "disabled" and voila`! No clicking of the locks when I selected "R" to back out of his shop!
A couple questions:
- Are there any non-dealer OBD scanner/reader tools available that can disable this setting?
- Are there any other dealer-only settings that I should consider having them alter while they’re in there?

Superlocking is deadlocking (press lock button on fob twice in succession).
I think slam locking is where the doors automatically lock on closing? Seems like a bad choice...

Thanks! Both seem like disasters looking for a place to happen.
