Does a Low Oil Pressure warning need to be reset before the car will restart?

Does a Low Oil Pressure warning fault code need to be reset before the car will restart?
The car displayed the engine fault warning, and the oil was almost 3 quarts down, and failed to start--- even after adding oil.
After the oil was filled, the car still wouldn't restart-- almost a little chug... as if the car were out of fuel (which it was not).
Does the Low Oil Pressure warning turn off the fuel pump?
How does the Low Oil Pressure warning disable the engine from starting, and how can if be reset?
The car is inop in a supermarket parking lot.

I cannot see how being low on oil can stop you starting the car except of course the car is so low on oil the engine has seized.
Try this first. Imagine your facing the same direction of car. Drivers side where you are? Between the door jam and the car body is a sort of D shaped panel. Just pull that off. In there on the right corner you will see what looks like a medium sized tube? On top of that is the cut off switch. Try pushing in the top of that and that will re-set the cut off if its tripped. Will see if I can find a photo for you .
Here you go, this is from a 2005 model but it will give you some idea.
Fues on left. Inertia/cutoff switch on right.

I'm used to capacities in litres but 3 quarts immediately jumped out as a LOT! The refill capacity is 6.9 quarts so that is dangerously low.
The oil pressure sender simply triggers the warning light - there is no interlock to prevent starting.

How far did you drive with oil warning on? The warning light is set about 2 psi, so when it goes off, the engine should be shut down right then, not later. More than 20 seconds and you risk spinning the bearings.
If the oil is really low,the bores could be dry, so try pulling the plugs and putting one teaspoon of oil in each bore, button it up and try again.
