door lock relay location
I can't seem to find the relay for the door locks. I have a 1998 XK8, US coupe. I'm having all sorts of problems with my door locks and now they don't work. Yes, I checked the fuses and the battery voltage, all are ok. My car is running fine, the locks don't work. I just want to find this relay.
Anyway, according to the Vehicle Care booklet, it says this relay is supposed to be "behind the fascia on the right-hand side as viewed from the driver's seat." It is supposed to be violet and there are two relays (the other is apparently for the a/c). Also, in the 1998 Range Electrical Guide, it shows the location of these mystery relays as being near the passenger side fuse box. Is this "fascia" what we in America would call the kick panel? If so, is there a trick to removing the kick panel? I've tugged on it pretty hard and it won't budge. I'm a little leery of sticking something metal in behind there.
Where, exactly, is this elusive "fascia" with the relays? I've crawled up and looked under/behind the dash and I don't see anything that looks like a violet relay.
My thanks in advance,
Ethan
