Double din unit

Hi guys,
I've been reading through the various posts on this and other forums regarding replacing the factory sat nav and stereo systems and have a question for those of you that have had the dashboards off of your original style XKs. Are there any space constraints behind the dash panels that make it unfeasible to move the aircon controls upwards to below the vents and then fit a double din unit in front of the gear stick?
I realise the visibility of the unit would be limited when you're in park but that's hardly a concern unless your car is also your living room and you're planning on using it as a TV while parked up.
Cheers.

I've seen an XK that had the auxilliary controls (DSC, seat warmers, fogs) moved to the glove box so that he could fit a double din in that opening. Not sure what you meant by the aircon controls being moved, not sure that would work anyway. That help?
I installed a double din radio in my '05 XK8. See my picture album Sorapp's Jag. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/a...hp?albumid=212
