Default Driver Side Door Panel Help!

2003 XKR

My car is at the dealer, as I type, awaiting my decision. I have been told that they cannot repair the door panel and it must be replaced for $700.00. Can this possibly be true?

Look at the pic and let me know what you think. (I couldn't find a Jag door panel pic but you should get the idea)

I don't intend to pull the panel anytime in the near future. Any fixes out there? It looks terrible right now with a noticable gap. I'm also concerned that the window will "jump" since it no longer has the guidance of the door panel.

Thanks in advance!

I would try jag-genie's (lol) idea, or use the epoxy. I think you might find some assistance with car audio shops too. You have to believe they have broken and repaired their share of door panel clips before and had to fix them somehow. Dejavu, this isn't the first time i've recommended audio shops to you is it?? Did you ever get your wood on the steering wheel cleaned up?

Thanks for feedback.I have a new employee that has over 20 years experience doing audio and alarms. I keep forgetting that! LOL I'll have him take a look at it.

Do you know where I can get replacement clip housings (the orange square thing?) No amount of glue or epoxy is going to hold that corner clip.

No, H20, I haven't done anything with the steering wheel yet - thanks for input though.

OK, thanks genie. The upper left clip is there, just broken on one side. I talked to Mike (the guy at work) and he feels confident he can repair it so I'll be leaving it in his capable hands.
