driver's side seat module wanted
I'm looking for a reasonably priced module for my 2001 xk8 driver's side seat module. I've seen the ones for sale at one of the online suppliers and I think $945 is some kind of joke.
It's not a joke. There very few to be found. If you have the old one, it may be repairable. The printed circuit board has a tendancy to crack. If you search carefully with a magnifier you might find the crack and solder it. There is some information somwhere on the forum to help you, but I can't remember where. I actually put in a jumper wire and switch in mine before I found out they can be soldered. Having an extra switch under the seat isn't that great, but it works. I'm assuming you have only lost one mode. Good luck.
I found one for a previous car for less than $100 through car-parts.com.
Enduring question is how close to the exact part number/xxx do you have to get. The driver side is linked to the CANetwork because of the seat memory function and needs to be programmed, as I understand, but the passenger side is not on the NET and just plugs and plays.
With careful inspection under magnification I can see no faults that are repairable on the printed circuit board. Using a pin for a connection and a VM found no obvious faults.
I need one so if my understanding is faulty would someone please provide some more definitive information.

Others have found their issue has been with the seat switchpack or the harness and not the module itself.
If you are convinced your present module is not repairable, then you'll need to quote the batch code to source a compatible replacement. This code will be in the format LJE2160xx/xxx
