UPDATE August, 2011: A kit is now available to raise and lower the top remotely, see: http://www.thejagwrangler.com/convertible-top-remote-control.html
I sketched out a circuit last night.
The parts are on order to test it out. It will work with the headlight button pressed first and the door open or close button pressed second.
More to come soon !

My lower left button has a horn/speaker icon on it. I guess it won't work for me.

Are you sure your horn/speaker doesn't look a little like a headlight with light waves (see attachment) ?Originally Posted by Reverend Sam

Yep, I'm sure. I took a pic but I can't figure out how to upload it from my phone.

My Remote has the word "Panic" in the C position. I thought that was a button that you would push when you realized that the car has to be taken to the Dealer for Service!Originally Posted by WhiteXKR

Thats really weird. I even checked the later model Driver Manual, and the key fobs all look the same in the picture.
I guess the key question is if it behaves the same as described in the PDF?

One press switches on headlamps for 25 seconds. Three presses starts the Panic Alarm.

Lol. Well, I would need a chain saw to drop the top on your car anyway.Originally Posted by Paul Pavlik

Super idea! (Logic circuits always make my head hurt.)
Add me please to the headcount if you're going to be ordering parts in quantity.

The idea was actually first floated by dibbit and Rev. Sam the other day, with some inspriation from MacGyver. Originally Posted by Dennis07

My Jaguar Fob matches your image.
What did they say was the first thing to go?

Only one problem for me - even with fresh batteries my remote's distance = around 3 feet. Been thinking about trying to extend range by relocating antenna (I assume it's the looped wire in the overhead map light.) I just haven't had time to play with it yet.

That is way low. Maybe you should try a new one...they are pretty cheap on ebay.

This sounds really cool. You guys keep cranking out just the types of modification I like: extending the cars abilities in a OEM or stealthy way. I can't wait to see this.
