OK, Listmates, I've put in a new battery and cleaned each of the wheel speed sensors. Still, I get the DSC System Fault warning, not every time, but more often than not. Any thoughts as to what is needed to cure?

Are you definitely getting the amber warning with the message DSC SYSTEM FAULT and not the amber light with just DSC displayed?

The first one does indicate a fault but the second one is displayed to show the DSC is operating. This ridiculous design by Jaguar confuses many owners.

Its definitely a fault. But it doesn't occur every time. Assuming the worst, what needs to be done?

Could it be a bad connection at the sensors?

 

Mine still does the same occasionally - I never did get to the bottom of it. Sometimes it happens when I start the car, sometimes on the move, and 99% of the time it clears if I stop the car and re-start it!

 

Check the rubber boots on the speed sensor wiring harnesses where they attach to the speed sensors themselves. Those boots tend to degrade, split, and crack, allowing dirt and moisture into the wiring (particularly on the two rear sensors). That is what happened to my wife's XK8. In March 2013, I cleaned the split areas on the two rear boots thoroughly but carefully with soap and water, dried the area with a hair dryer, then sealed the boots up using a small tube of neutral-cure silicone caulk that I purchased at Lowe's Home Improvement for about $7. I built up a mound of caulk about the size of a large marble on each boot and let it cure the rest of the day and then overnight before reattaching the harnesses to the sensors the next morning. No DSC messages have appeared since. It is very important that you choose a neutral-cure silicone caulk. Otherwise, chemical reactions can occur that can compromise the wiring....
