Hey all,
I have ECU issues with my 1997 XK8 and will most likely (according to my mechanic) have to replace the entire unit. I am wondering if anyone is aware of an ECU for sale that will have the same (stock setting) base map for my 4.0 V8?

You will have to reprogram the security settings to your own car, someone with a WDS can do that.

 

Does your mechanic claim that it can't be rebuilt?

George, good to see you here, there are many ECU questions on the site.

I just thought that it was the most obvious and actionable answer for his Jaguar ECM problem.

Otherwise I would have love to give lots of advice about what mostly goes wrong with these Jaguar XK8 ECUs when they go bad.
