Engine Computer Problem
HI. My name is Garson. Anyone here run into a computer problem here? START ,ROUGH IDLE ,SKIP or MISS ,HESITATION,LOSS OF POWER ,NO AC

What type of programming do you do with the ecm rebuilt and out of the car for $325 ?
The reason I say is because mine was repaired and I now have a "no communication" situation. I am still going to have to go to the dealer to get it programmmed with updates (in vehicle).

I didnt realize yours was already rebuilt. He won't program it as you cannot do so out of vehicle.
If yours is not communicating, there is something else going on.

Got appt to Barrett Jag in SA on Monday for "no communication" problem.
I'm gonna try a fresh start to see what the dealer says.
(the dealer that had it before me and sent it in (to a non-dealer) for "chk eng lite on and hard start" -they replaced air monitoring sensor and had the ECM repaired out of veh)

i had a similar problem with a 97 xk cutting out surging missing then stalled out then no start then starts.. found crank sensor shorting out to ecm intermitently. took a bit of time but found it.. opened ecm and found a capacitor staring to melt on the board.. replaced crank sensor and sent out ecm and she was all fixed.. people thought it was the engine .

You do not need programming. If you get one from somewhere else, you have to make sure the parts # match. Some dealer might offer you fixing your computer, there ususally try to sell you $3000 computer. If you have the money go ahead.

Sorry for my ignorrance, I'm still learning about my Jag.
My ecm was rebuilt and the scanners I've used told me no communication, so I thought it was the ECM, but the dealer in town said their scanner works fine and that I had a lot of codes in storage (but none of the trouble lights have come on).
I guess I need to find a Jag specific scanner to buy.
