Engine Earth Lead Location
Gents,
I had a bit of an oil leak from the cam shaft covers and am cleaning up the old oil in the engine bay.
As good practise, I was going to check the engine earth/ground connection but can't seem to find it. Part No LBN3740AA looks all shiney braided silver but I can't see it anywhere.
If anyone is under the bonnet this weekend, can you please take a pic to show me where this is?

David, the Braided Steel Strap runs from the X-Member near the RF lower control arm area up to the bell housing on the right side underneath on the XK8. I believe its the same on the 5HP25 and 6HP26 Cars. No pic but I've cleaned and tightened this ground also.
Here you go.......

Franks tip. Make sure you REALLY clean the surfaces its going on. My engine would not start and I had to have the car towed to a garage as the mechanic just bolted the new earth strap on without cleaning the mounting surface. Above is the very strap and how it was originally fitted.
Take a look at the hassle this simple fault caused me. Click here please.
