Hi wonder if anyone can help. I have a 2006 XK jaguar which the engine malfunction light has come on yesterday and stayed on and it's Amber any ideas what could be wrong.

You will need to get an OBDII code reader and find out what codes are causing the light to be on. Many auto parts stores will read them for free if you can get the car to them.

If you can either obtain the codes yourself, or have a parts house such as Halford's read them for you, post them here so other forum members can provide diagnosis and repair advice.

It is also helpful to provide the number of kilometres/miles the vehicle has travelled, or any other information on performance or fuel usage.
