been out for sunday lunch..started car.eml light on.turned engine off tried few timed still on..drove home with light on..car drove normal but I was worried.checked with code reader came up ..missfire on cylender one..think the code was 0301..cant remember..deleted code..light now out..is this something brewing?help plese..

 

I got a P0302 (misfire cylinder 2) along with other codes about a week ago. I found a small amount of oil in the spark plug hole. I cleaned it out and cleaned the plug. I cleared the codes.They haven't come back yet. I suspect the cam cover gasket is leaking.

Could be from leaking oil as suggested by MRomanik or possibly a coil on the way out.

If the same code repeats, clear again and switch Cylinder 1 coil with Cylinder 2. If you subsequently get a misfire code Cylinder 2, that will confirm the coil is dying.
