Engine mount getting compressed over time?
Today I replaced the passenger side engine mount on my Xkr 4.0. It was tricky but since control arms and all other stuff was already removed from the wheel well it was done in one hour. When I got the old one out I realized it was about 10 mm shorter compared to the new one (bought from Sng Baratt). Is this to be expected?

Got it solved! 5-6 hours spent to change the driver side engine mount. My solution was to create a special tool to undo the nut on top of the mount.
First I lowered the steering rack and discoupled it from the steering column via the splined axle.
Base of the tool I made is a swivel socket spanner (15 mm socket). The socket spanner itself I was able to get on the nut, but not able to apply torque enough in the tight space. So I added some stuff to the spanner so that I was able to push it with support from the engine compartment wall. The other parts of my special tool is a bolt with two corresponding nuts, a specially made piece from a square Iron tube to fasten the wrench to the bolt and a 13 mm socket as an end piece to put towards the engine compartment wall.
When the wrench is in place at the nut on top of the engine mount I start expand the special part of the tool via one of the nuts on the bolt, so that the 13 mm socket at the end of the bolt pushes into the compartment wall. First using fingers, later an open spanner. This way I slowly push the swivel socket spanner towards the engine block, loosening the nut. It was turned approx a quarter of a turn and that was enough to soon get it loose completely.
With the steering rack lowered I was able to get the old mount out and the new one in. One issue was also that I was not able to see the bolt on the top of the mount when lowering the engine again after being jacked up. The bolt dont center itself for the hole in the bracket above it
