I might be through with the little problems. It seems as the supercharger on my 2012 XKR-100 discharged some bits through the #5 cylinder valve and they are now sitting on the piston. The shop is now removing the engine and we will know more tomorrow.
Guessing at the expense of rebuilding this engine, I wonder about the merits or demerits of replacing it wit a Rebuilt Ford or Chevrolet engine.
Anyone have experience or thoughts on this idea?

 

you mean 2002 car that you have? jaguar specilities you may want to check out, they offer a package to put a chevy lsx motor/trans right into the car with little to no mod'g. I'd say you would be into the same costs either way, but the LSx motor will be way more dependable.

 

Thanks for your reply! That Jaguar Specialties a terrific site. We still do not know the extent of damage to the heads, block and supercharger. But now I can determine what to do, swap engine for an LS1 or rebuild my AJV8 if possible. I do wonder what it would cost to do a rebuild. She has 113,000 miles clocked now, so that would be a good solution too.

 

I do believe it does not have to be just the ls1, any motor from the LS line, where you will find more power.
