I have a 2005 XK8, 4.2 and during this cold spell l’m getting intermittent codes P0207 & P307 combined with rough running and reduced performance. Some times it will occur during first start of the day and other times it will occur on start up following a 40 minute ride where I experienced no performance issues. Any suggestions?

 

Swap the coil pack from cylinder 7 with a different one and see if the error moves with the coil pack. If so, you need a coil pack, if not, further investigation of no7 would be needed. When you go to swap it you may well find that the plug well is full of oil from a leaking cam cover gasket, which may be the cause of the issue.

Don't forget to clear any codes after you do the swap, so that you're not confusing matters with legacy codes.

 

Prior to swapping in coil pack for cylinder 7, I checked the resistance of the fuel injector and I found it to be 36 ohms…directly off the injector pins…. Looks like I have a bad injector
