the easiest, most effective change is to remove completely or change the rearmost boxes. Do not mess with the center setup as it will sound horrible and probably decrease performance unless you have a system designed by people who have the engineering background and experience to do this. additionally it helps if the proposed system is side by side tested on a dyno. If you modify the rear boxes, you might want to reinstall the before axle cans or it will sound too gritty.
Another thing to note is that larger diameter pipes do not make a large difference in HP or power curve until you reach much higher displacement.

Interesting that I have been researching this subject the last couple of days. I have seen two different ideas, both here and on YouTube. Remove the two rear mufflers or the center ones. I find no mention of problems with the O2 sensors, or having the check engine light coming on. I would think that removing the center ones it would effect the sensor readings. A complete new custom exhaust can cost upwards to a grand.
