Default Expansion Tank - Cooling System

Hey guys, I have a leak clamp, replace and clean. that mark in gray is normal?

Both the marks on the coil cover (circled in red) and on the expansion tank (arrowed in blue) appear to be evaporated coolant from the leak.

Nothing to worry about if the new clamp has stopped the leak.

I was afraid of expansion tank cracks ... I have only 20,000 miles. 2001 XKR.

When they do crack, it's usually on the bottom of the tank due to the heat rising from the exhaust manifold.

Looks like you got away with it this time.

Hello, I´ve had expansion tank cracks as well. Tried covering with epoxy and with then with Fiber Glass... none of the options held up after engine warms up...
Bought another one on ebay but if anyone has suggestion on what material to use to fix the old one so that I have the spare one (after I fix it, just in case)
