Default Exterior Mirrors. Problem?

Please bear with me. I am not too sure if I have a problem or not.

I have a 2003 XKR. The exterior mirrors seems to work fine. I can select and move them. They have the powerfold option and it works. But.....

1. If I move a mirror then briefly push the memory button the mirrors do not move back to their original position. Should they?

2. When reversing I can dip my mirror (tried both sides) but on de-selecting reverse they stay where they are. Should they too move back to the original position?

3. On running the SDD software I get a DTC B1234 "Invalid mirror code" that is about as informative as a North Korean tour guide. What does it mean? The mirrors went out of range, what ever that means.

I feel sure that some clever guy on here can answer these questions. Clarification please

Thanks.
