Default Fail Day !!

Ladies and Gentlemen please let me know your thoughts and experiences to help me get through a hard day.

After two weeks in the garage I decided to take Lola ( 98 XK8 with 110,000 KMs) to work. She has run flawlessly for two years and is well looked after. Never any issues.

On the short drive to work I got the following fail notices:

1. Traction Control Fail
2. Stability Control Fail
3. Bulb fail (when I reversed)
4. ABS light

She is due for indoor, winter, heated storage next week so was hoping to just coast through this last week of Toronto fall but out of nowhere all these failures !!

Battery reads dead centre on the dash gauge . Car is running beautifully.

Anyone have any thoughts on why this sudden barrage of warnings ??

Welcome any thoughts or direction or experience.

DON'T go on the battery gauge for wellness of battery. First thing is go get the battery load tested. Most parts shows can do that for you while it is in the car. Maybe take it to two diff places just to make sure they are not pulling one on you to sell a battery.
A battery can start the car and it can seem that it is fine but with these Jags there are MANY indvl components that need enough juice to run them if not they can throw all kinds of warning lights at you out of the blue. Check you connects. The is a cable block in truck right side forward of the spare, make sure the connections are clean and tight.
But I would get that battery checked first. The gauge on the dash is worthless.

+1 on checking the battery. How old is the battery? Was it on a battery tender while in the garage?

If the car sat for two weeks without a battery maintainer and it's not new, it was probably low. All that brgjag said is correct, but I would first charge the battery overnight.

I agree with others suggesting 'battery' - it's the usual cause.

Please post again after a charge and another test drive to let us know for sure.

Some codes require a couple of start/drive cycles but should clear. If you have the neg. battery cable disconnected at the battery that will reset the modules, touch it to the positive post to be sure.

You will have to reset the windows and the radio tone adjustments, possibly the stations. If the radio needs a code and you don't have it a dealer can provide that. Most US market cars don't need that, but I'm not sure about Canada.
