Failure engine mode
After many months of code free driving, the P0121 (Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance) code was shows up after the car slides into the failsafe mode. This issue only seems to appear when the car is forced to idle for a long period of time (Starbuck's drive through or Traffic jam). Is it possible that the fuel pump is picking up trash from the fuel tank as the car idles? It boggles me as to how the car can instantly run great once the codes clear and then go back to the failsafe mode once you stop at a traffic light. Is there a sensor or two that can be replaced without sending the TB assembly out for rebuilding?
Thank you in advance.

There have been several attempts at replacing the tps with aftermarket parts, and I don't think they have been successful. Sending the throttle body to ASI for a rebuild is often the best choice.

Thank you for the ASI link. Does anyone recall how long it takes to get the TB back from ASI once they receive it? This is the wife's daily driver and I am trying o weight the cost of being down a vehicle verses purchasing an already rebuilt TB from ASI.
Thanks again.

I removed the throttle body this evening with plans to send it to ASI tomorrow. I also placed an order for a new TB gasket and was wanting to know if anyone knows the part numbers for the two (formed black rubber) coolant hoses that connect to the back of the TB? I want to replace this while I have the TB off of the car?
Thank you in advance.
