Finished Octopus hose !
Merciful jeebus what a b!tch of a job!! Had no trouble getting the plastic connectors off.....but that stupid zip tie on the long hose next to the firewall was almost impossible to reach. Threading the new hose back into place was awful.
But the good news is that I'm another step closer to being back on the road. Water pup, serpentine belt , and rad hoses left to do

@ Rothwell : sorry but no pics. I was too busy cussing and wishing I had three hands.
My son-in-law , the mechanic, lent me this marvelous tool though. It made getting spring clips off hoses quite easy. I'll try to remember to post a picture of it. The worst part ( for me ) is that now my arthritic joints are all screaming for mercy

Alas, a tad late - but moving the row of electrical connectors atop the transmission makes access much easier for not a lot of extra effort (at least it did for me). Being about a foot taller would have been useful too.
Not the easiest of jobs.
