Default Fix for broken fuse/relay box lid clips

As I get to know my XK8, I realise that lots of plastic fittings have become brittle with age, not helped of course, by hamfistedness (if that's even a word?).
After major repairs on the centre console switch panel frame, I took to searching out more damage. I noticed that one of the fuse and relay boxes on the left of the engine bay was loose as both retaining clips were broken.

I have just finished restoring the interior of my 58 Bugeye Sprite and remembered that I had some upholstery clips left over. After cutting off the remnants of the plastic clips and replacing them with the metal upholstery clips, this is the result! Better than original!

Showing broken clip

Upholstery clip in place. Metal tangs keep it in place.

Good one! And didn't really cost anything if it was a leftover. As someone says "a $0 fix".
