Default Flickering brake lights

So this morning I was on my way to work and looked in my rear view mirror while braking and noticed my 3rd brake light was flickering. I thought maybe the light strip was acting up, but when I was backing into my parking spot I looked at the car behind me and saw that all of my brake lights were flickering. I put it in park and pressed the pedal and my lights stayed solid, but on the second press they flickered and my interlock flickered too! I know there’s a pedal switch and that ground wires can be an issue, anything else? I looked in the archives, but didn’t see exactly this problem

Sounds like a grounding issue. Have you done the ground wire fix on the rear lights? Don't know if that is the issue, but definitely something to be done. Could also check the rear grounds.

Long shot, but it could be a failing Light Control Module. More info here

I personally haven't done the mod, but they were done at some point. I'm leaning towards a ground issue too, and I went out at lunch thinking I might be able to look at it, but I forgot everything is covered with plastic lol. I'll have to check it out tomorrow, since I work till 6 tonight and it'll be completely dark when I get home smh

If the shift interlock is also playing up, my guess would be the brake switch, although the high-level stop lamp and LHS rear lamp cluster share the same ground point BT3S on the convertible.

The ECM knows when the brake switch is pressed via the blue slate (US) wire and communicates that to the BPM to fire the interlock solenoid.
However, this wire splices at FCS35 and also routes to the stop lamp relay, so everything prior to the joint (mostly the switch and attendant wiring) is common to both symptoms.

I went in today and checked, cleaned and lightly dielectric coated my grounds. I did find my right connector was melted at some point. I cleaned that up too and double checked my added light grounds. I tried it and it flickered a little bit, but then stayed solid. I drove around about 30miles and I didn't see it flicker at all, however I still think I need to check the brake switch to be sure I don't just loose my ability to shift, not to mention the possibility of getting rear ended!
