I thought I'd post a pic of my fog light surrounds from Mina Gallery. I've had a ton of messages about them on several group pages I belong to so I thought maybe some may like here.
Not for the purists necessarily but they were originally designed by Arden of Germany, respected Jaguar specialists.
I opted for the paintable versions to be more subtle and I also added stainless steel raised washers behind the screws to give a more industrial, feel and tie into the stainless mesh grille. They get great response at shows and matching the body color keeps them almost factory looking.

 

I love the whole arden body kit. If you're in the states, Minagallery.com has a great deal. He will customize as much as he can for you too. I didn't like the little dated scoops on the side skirts just near the rear wheels so he made a set without. He also has the facelift 2005 side skirts. I'd probably have gotten those had I known at the time but these are the Arden style so they work.

 

Phil, your car is a beauty. The work completed shows a man who knows what he wants and has the ability to make it happen.

As you said the fog surrounds may not be for everyone and personally I feel the smooth lines of the front are somewhat thrown off by them but that's just my opinion.

Regardless your car has to be the best example of a customized Xk8/R I've seen.

I had an E type when I was 17 and always liked the way the glass headlight chromes had screws.
And I like the bit of "racing" edge it gives it, not to be confused with boy racer!! Lol.
