Some of you have pm'd me to inquire about how things are going along.
As of now, this is a test unit he printed. He was just testing to make sure he's got the correct contours for the outer cover and the button. He still has a ways to go. Because the unit I had provided was broken, he is having to reverse engineer the inside surfaces, of which my original unit had various broken pieces. I had provided the latch assembly so that he can make sure that there is no impinging during function.
Please keep in mind that the final product will have a fit and finish much more aligned with the original part. I know progress has been slow going, but please hang in there. There were various situations that affected when he could start working on our parts. First he had a backlog from other clients, and then fell ill.
Hello
Is it still too late to add my name to the list for 2?
I'm in France although can get stuff sent to the UK if it's cheaper.
Thanks for all your effort in this.
Regards Adrian

It’s not too late. You’re just in time. I was speaking to him yesterday and he’s got it nearly finished.
This is the CAD design This is his second prototype This orange one would be the third prototype As you can notice, there are holes for a screw. The decision was made for this to be a screw retained design. The screws will be shipped with the part.
This blew up way more than we thought but, that’s a good thing. Looks great
Yeah, this definitely garnered more interest than I thought it would. I got pm’d this morning for one more pair, so now we’re at 24 buckles total, which would put us just one shy of the threshold for that bulk buy pricing. I will order that one last pair to lock in that discounted price. I will let you know once he gives me the updated price.

Hi! I hope you have all had a great summer. Yesterday I went to pick up the latest prototype to test fit on my car.
It’s looking pretty good but I asked him to improve a few details.
First, when I tried it on my seatbelt the operation seemed like there is some binding; the belt requires some force to insert and remove. This was something he couldn’t have checked without the car present, so he will be working on that then asking me to bring the Jag around again.
Second, there is currently a 2 mm gap between the button edges and the edge of the cover. I asked him to reduce that gap.
He will be working on that this coming week and he’ll ask me to go back to test fit again. If I approve then we are ready to begin printing.
Regarding pricing, he will be charging $24 per print; that’s the final bulk pricing he gave me. Taking into account the price of design, the break-even price I can charge per part is $41.00
So, since everyone except Ledmi wants a pair, each of you would be paying $82 and Ledmi would pay $164 for his 4 buckles.
If you’re all ok with that pricing, please let me know. Once I approve the final prototype you can remit payment to me via paypal if possible. I will be pm’ing you at that time.
Regarding shipping, I think one of the USPS flat rate boxes would suffice, right? I also ask that you cover the costs of shipping. We can flesh out the details later via pm.
I’m sorry I’m lacking in pictures this time around. I forgot to take any and this is from a video I took to demonstrate that the fit was too tight.

I’m fine with that price, and thank you again for doing this.
My problem is that I don’t have a PayPal account. I closed it and I don’t want to reopen it due to a grievance I have with them.
Is there any other method of payment you can accept? I have Apple Pay, Venmo, and Remitly, or I could send money through Western Union or pay by credit card.
Around Mid-August if I am satisfied with the next prototype.

I have Apple Pay and Venmo. You could use either of those.
He will be giving me the final prototype soon. He was able to
resolve the binding issue and minimize the gap at the button, but not eliminate it. This is because eliminating the gap would re-introduce binding. He will be printing me a production ready prototype so that I can try it out in my car.
